Deaf Action Administration Support Worker
Deaf Action is a leading Scottish voluntary organisation providing a range of services to deaf people. We have the following vacancy based at our Head Office in Edinburgh.
Administration Support Worker (25 hours per week) Salary £16,047 – £16,710 (pro-rata)
We are looking for a well organised and enthusiastic individual to join the team in our Edinburgh office. You should possess confidence and the ability to multi-task, have excellent communication skills, be a great team player and have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, British Sign Language is essential.

Job Title: Volunteer Financial Director (Treasurer)
Responsible To: Board of Directors
Purpose:
To be responsible for monitoring the organisation’s finances and to keep the members of the Board of Directors informed.
Duties will include the following:
Ensuring that all decisions about expenditure are made by people authorised to do so, and if appropriate are minuted or recorded in other ways.
Ensuring that financial records are checked by at least one person who has not been involved in making the payment or writing up the records.
Ensuring that the Board of Directors, senior staff and others with responsibility for financial control receive regular financial reports.
Ensuring that the organisation’s financial records and reports are checked or audited regularly – at least annually – by an appropriately qualified third party.
Ensure the following tasks have been carried out:
Budgets and cashflows.
Ensuring that the organisation receives money due to it.
Bills are paid on time.
Salaries are properly calculated and PAYE is properly operated.
Recording properly all financial transactions.

Optima – West Lothian Federation of Day Care Providers
Development Officer – 35 hours, permanent
Location: Braid House, Livingston
Salary: £35k – £40k

As part of the West Lothian Reshaping Care for Older People Programme, Optima has been funded to recruit a Development Officer to lead on the redesign of day care services in West Lothian. This project will be challenging and exciting, and the outcome planned is to see a model of day care services that meets the needs of older people and contributes positively to the aims of the overall programme.
You will need strong negotiation skills and the ability to motivate management and staff across the range of voluntary sector day care providers in West Lothian.
Qualified with a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, you will have knowledge and experience of the voluntary sector, experience of service planning, proven experience in verbal communication, report writing and presentation, a good knowledge of the contribution of public sector, voluntary and private organisations to social services clients, particularly in respect of older people; experience of consultation work with users’/carers’ group’ and experience of working in partnership with other agencies/disciplines.
