MIDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) training courses are available at the end of each month to drivers with a D1 licence qualification. This applies to everyone who passed a driving test before 1st January 1997 . Drivers require to have a clean driving licence and be in reasonably good health. Training is free to volunteers and a nationally recognised MIDAS cetrtificate is valid for 4 years. Voluntary drivers are matched to local community groups. Further training, support and expenses are provided.
