Connecting Scotland has announced a fast track phase, providing devices, data, training and support to users who are low income, digitally excluded and at risk of social isolation or loneliness. The three priority groups are:
- Older people (aged 60+)
- People with disabilities
- Single parents
The application form is now live and you can check the guidance for information on eligibility and your responsibilities within the programme. The Connecting Scotland fast track will be accepting applications of up to 10 devices, however, more than one person can make an application from each organisation. Once an organisation receives their devices they have 14 days to deliver the devices to the user, and another 14 days from this date to upload the user data. You should ensure that you can meet these timescales before applying.
Fast track applications will be assessed, and awards made, on a rolling basis every week so it is advised that you apply early to avoid disappointment. Applications will close towards the end of July. This is a separate application process from Phase 3 which is also currently open, with a focus on those seeking employability support.
Applications from individuals cannot be accepted. For more information visit www.connecting.scot or contact me with any questions.
