Our Young Start fund relaunches on Thursday 30th August
After a 9 month hiatus our Young Start fund is reopening to applications next week! The aim of the fund has remained similar: we will continue to fund activity that helps children and young people aged between eight and 24 years of age to be more confident and play an active part in realising their own potential. Here’s some key points:
The attached briefing document has further detail. Full guidance will be published on our website on 30th August
(www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/youngstart - not live yet!)
How you can help: We’ll be promoting the launch of the fund on Thursday 30th and Friday 31st. We’d be much obliged if you could help promote the launch on your social media channels. Attached are some template posts and graphics to save you time
Keeping in touch in the future: restarting regular mail-outs shortly!
As you’ll know, we’ve changed our structure a bit at Big Lottery Fund, and now have teams working in clusters of local authorities – many of you will no doubt have heard from them already! While we’ve all been getting to grips with this new arrangement I’m afraid our regular mailouts have been somewhat neglected. Thanks to many of you for chasing this up, and reminding us that the updates are missed!
Now that things are settling in we should get updates going again from September, directly from the teams you’ll be dealing with in your area (and so with more of a local flavour). We still plan to include info on groups funded/not funded, updates on our funding, hints and tips etc. If there’s anything else you’d like to see covered, let me know. Myself or colleagues will also be at TSI funding officer and SLOG meetings over the next month, so you can make suggestions in person too. Look forward to seeing some of you there!
