BLES Training supported young people in West Lothian from 1984 to 2017. As a charity, we delivered dedicated training programmes for 33 years targeting the skills development of 16 to 24 year olds within West Lothian. Beneficiaries of training programmes came from areas that were classed as multiple areas of deprivation, where historically 2nd and 3rd generation family members struggled with unemployment, poverty, debt, substance/alcohol misuse.
BLES Training closed in 2017 and as a result of selling the assets the charity owned is now in the position to disburse funds in keeping with its constitution. As such we will run a single application process to apply for these funds in 2018.
Charities within West Lothian with one or more of the following objectives can apply:
Grants will be made to local charities with a constitution and whose aims and objectives are in line with those of BLES Training. This will need to be clearly articulated in the application.
Grants are available from £500 to £30,000, although we expect the majority of grants to be awarded between £500 and £10,000.
Please email BLESTrustees@hotmail.com to request the application questionnaire. Completed applications will need to be submitted by 17 October 2018.
