Everyone has the right to live life to the full. After a diagnosis of a chest or heart condition or a stroke, many people experience fear and isolation and struggle with the impact on their lives. Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland won’t stand for that. The care and support we deliver every day ensures everyone can live the life they want to.
The main purpose of this post is to deliver support services in the designated area of responsibility. The service supports people who have had a stroke to get on with their life in a way which is meaningful to them.
The service is delivered with the support of a team of trained volunteers, which the coordinator has direct responsibility for.
The role is extremely varied requiring a variety of practical skills, working with colleagues to deliver an effective and seamless recovery service for individuals, and it will support Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland to deliver its vision and strategy to ensure that No Life is Half Lived.
Demonstration of a positive attitude towards people with disabilities, the ability to recruit, manage and motivate a team of volunteers, excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be required to fulfil this role.
This post is home-based and subject to PVG membership.
The use of own car and a current valid driving licence is essential (expenses paid at mileage rate).
