The Carers Act (Scotland) 2016 came into force on 1st April 2018. To support the implementation of the act, funding has been made available for the next 5 years from the Scottish Government for carers and we need your help to tell us what services and support you need in your caring role – tell us how to spend the money!
Please take ten minutes to complete this survey: click here
The survey is the start of the consultation process that will help with the update of The Edinburgh Joint Carers Strategy and development of future carer services that will meet your needs. The survey will identify some initial key themes that we will explore in more depth at events that I would encourage you to attend if you can.
To explore themes in more detail for young carers events are being arranged with young carer organisations throughout June and July 2018.
On Monday 25th June there is a consultation for adult carers at The Jack Kane Centre from 1pm – 4pm, there is free parking and disabled access.
There will a further consultation for BOTH adult carers and young carers on Tuesday 24th July 1pm-4pm at The Jack Kane Centre from 1pm – 4pm, there is free parking and disabled access.
If you think you can attend either of these events please e-mail Kirsten.Adamson@edinburgh.gov.uk so we can organise tea and coffee or feel free to just turn up at 1pm.
