I am SUPER excited to let you know that Shona MacKenzie, our very own Macmillan Helping Matters Volunteer (West Lothian) has been short-listed as a FINALIST for this years’ SCVO (Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations) national awards!
Shona is a finalist within the Charity Champion category and the winner will be awarded by a panel of judges.
However, we have the opportunity to make Shona the overall winner of the really special People’s Choice Award – how amazing would that be?
You can help us do that by casting you vote now:
Please note: voting closes on 17th May.
Shona is one AMAZING volunteer. She has been a volunteer with Helping Matters for 5 years now and is a super-special lady, infact, I think she’s kind of like WW (Wonder Woman 😊)
Shona is a childminder and works 60+ hours a week. She has one (very precious) free morning each week – and she gives this to us at Macmillan. She commits this time to us each and every week to support someone living with cancer either emotionally or practically, most of the time both.
She supports people at any stage of their journey from initial diagnosis to end of life. She has supported families through the most harrowing of times. She listens, she undertakes tasks, she supports, she signposts, but most of all she cares.
Please take 2 minutes to cast your vote – let’s make this happen for Shona 😊. Thank you.
