Members of the Dechmont Community Council comprise of people who care about Dechmont and want to make it a better place to live, they are elected by the community and play an important role in local democracy. They facilitate a wide range of activities which promote the well-being of their communities, bringing local people together to help make things happen and promote the identity of their community. They advise, petition, influence and advocate numerous causes and cases of concern on behalf of Dechmont community. For example: conduct local surveys, campaign on local issues and/or organise community events.
