EARS Advocacy Service

Share
A Advocacy service available in Armadale and Blackridge, Bathgate, Fauldhouse and Breich Valley, Linlithgow, Livingston North, Livingston South, Whitburn and Blackburn.

Our office is based within Ladywell Neighbourhood Network, Livingston. We have a team of 6 Independent Advocates who are employed to represent individuals throughout West Lothian. This is a completely free and confidential service which can be of assistance to people who would like support to speak up for themselves or require someone to speak up for them.
Independent Advocacy can be of benefit as it is completely free of any potential conflict of interest, and is not connected to Social Work, the NHS or Care Homes.
You may have a concern about your accommodation, financial or legal matters, family or employment issues. You may not feel confident about speaking up or feel that no one is listening to you. You may need information, assistance with appointments/letter writing and job seeking, or you may feel you are being exploited or mistreated in some way. If any of these kinds of issues are of concern to you or someone you know, please feel free to contact us.

Our West Lothian Advocates work with five specific areas of need:
• Three are employed to work primarily on behalf of Older People, whether in Care Homes or within the community on a one to one basis.
• One Advocate is appointed to work with individuals who have a physical disability and/or an acquired brain injury on a one to one basis.
• Two are employed to work with individuals with a learning disability and/or who are on the Autism Spectrum/ or have Asperger’s on a one to one basis and group advocacy.
