Virtual Business Project Request – Foundation Apprenticeship

This year due to Covid-19 the College and Skills Development Scotland has made adaptations to the way students study and we have introduced virtual work placements. Ideally this will help our students gain valuable experience by working towards a project, in conjunction with an employer so they can complete their Apprenticeships and be ‘work ready’.

We have several Foundation Apprenticeship students who are currently studying Business Skills and would usually be going to a work placement; however, this has been restricted at least until after Christmas. If  the students was able to link up with an organisation to fulfil their work placement brief virtually and assist with the Company’s business or Office requirements, until they are able to re-join the work place, it would be really supportive.

The main area for project work would include: Taking a brief from the employer, developing the requirements over a period of time and producing research/reports/spreadsheet and database/or other similar employer led activity and then obtaining feedback. We are hoping to start the virtual projects by November and our Lecturer/Assessor will support the student weekly until March.

If you would like to discuss further, please call Alison Rogers on 01506 427833 or 07872 048090. Alternatively, you can arrange a virtual meeting to answer any questions. Initially I would require a project brief/task list from the organisation to discuss with the assessor and ensure it would be of benefit to both parties.
