VSGWL MARKS VOLUNTEERS’ WEEK 2021
2021 marks the 37th year of Volunteers’ week (1-7 June), when VSGWL will join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across Scotland and thanking them. During an exceptionally difficult year, people have taken the time to volunteer and make a huge difference to their communities, and those within-just as they do every year. Some volunteering online from home, others in person with a local charity or organisation, but all active at the heart of our local communities. The coronavirus pandemic has rightly raised the profile of volunteering and the immense contribution being made every single day by Scotland’s volunteers.
With 74% of adults
in Scotland giving their time to volunteer during Covid-19!
The Voluntary Sector Gateway are so proud to recognise the efforts of West Lothian’s volunteers and want you to join us in thanking them. We would therefore ask for your support!
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then video’s worth at least 1.8 Million!
Stats are clear-video rules the internet-in fact 75% of internet traffic is now streaming video content.
We would love if you could send us a short video, celebration photos or letters/statements, that we can publish over the week-of your own organisation giving thanks to your volunteers for all their hard work over this last year. Don’t forget Board Members are volunteers also.
Although in unusual times at present, please be as creative as you can-it can be as short as reading a thank you message out to your volunteers, to a full-on dance routine (remembering social distancing!!) Try to keep to approx. 2 minutes of footage, and add subtitles if possible, to keep your message accessible to all prospects.
We would really appreciate if you could send your Videos/Information to us by Wednesday 26th May 2021 at the latest. The contact to send these to is firstname.lastname@example.org.
