We understand that volunteering can be demanding at times and stress can take a toll on our mental and physical health. Isolation, illness, financial worries, family issues and world events can all accumulate into a level of stress that starts to negatively impact our quality of life.
For those that are generous with their time and working to contribute back to their community, there is the added challenge of working alongside people and communities that are struggling. This reinforces the importance of taking care of our mental health and dealing with stress and anxiety as volunteers.
That’s why Homestart West Lothian and Craigsfarm Community Hub are working together to deliver a 4-week course for volunteers. The course aims to help improve the volunteering experience through caring for our well-being through nurturing our interests and relaxation. The course is filled with skills and techniques and provides an opportunity to connect with other wonderful volunteers and to build a community where each person is valued and respected for their commitment to volunteering
This course is ideal if you are a volunteer, thinking of volunteering in the future or would like to volunteer as the first steps to employment.
The course runs from Thursday 25th August to Thursday 15th September 9:30am-11:30am
