West Lothian Council’s Economic Development Service has committed to supporting more local businesses through the Job Creation Fund to create sustainable employment opportunities. There are two possible grants available with more information on the criteria below.
Volume Job Grant
West Lothian Council is making £1 million available to viable local firms to create at least 300 new jobs. Each new role must be permanent and pay a starting salary of approximately £21k pa. The new recruits must be currently unemployed. Council and its partners can help firms with recruiting.
West Lothian Council is offering wage subsidy positions to small/medium employers in West Lothian. Funding is available for local businesses to create 100 new jobs for 16 – 24-year-olds. Where possible young people being supported through the Wage Subsidy programme will have access to Modern Apprenticeship opportunities.
- Business is located in West Lothian
- Can you employ a West Lothian resident?
- Businesses are committed to offering a minimum of 26 hours per week
- Employee(s) will be paid at least the Real Living Wage of £9.50
