The Grocers’ Charity is inviting applications from UK registered charities for its next funding round, offering one-off grants to support work that makes a meaningful difference across a wide range of community and social issues.

With a particular focus on small-to-medium charities, the programme aims to strengthen grassroots organisations supporting people most in need.

Funding is available for projects aligned with the Charity’s priority areas, including:

  • Relief of poverty
  • Support for older people
  • Disability and inclusion
  • Health
  • Military causes
  • The arts
  • Heritage
  • Environment and conservation
  • Children and young people

The fund will reopen on Monday 30 March, with the next application deadline set for Tuesday 1 September 2026.

Eligible charities must have an annual income below £500,000, and can apply for grants of up to £5,000. Around £1 million is awarded each year, with funding intended to support a wide range of revenue costs, including project and service delivery.

The Grocers’ Charity operates a two-stage application process:

  1. Submission of an initial enquiry form via the charity’s website
  2. Invitation to complete a full application (if successful at stage one)

Applications are reviewed by Charity Trustees at quarterly meetings held in March, April, June and December.

Organisations are encouraged to review the full guidance and explore examples of previously funded projects to assess suitability before applying.
