Frontline staff, managers and leaders working across Scotland’s public and third sectors are invited to take part in a free two-part online training programme exploring the links between racism and mental health.

Delivered by Third Sector Human Rights & Equalities (THRE) in partnership with CEMVO Scotland, the training will take place on Wednesday 9 September and Wednesday 16 September, from 10:00am to 12:30pm. Participants are expected to attend both sessions to gain the full benefit of the programme. No previous knowledge or experience is required.

The interactive sessions will help participants to:

  • Develop an understanding of key anti-racism concepts.
  • Build confidence in recognising and discussing racism.
  • Explore the impact of racism on the mental health of ethnic minority and marginalised communities.
  • Learn how to embed anti-racist approaches within organisations, with a particular focus on mental health care settings.

The training aims to support organisations in developing more inclusive practices and improving outcomes for people from ethnic minority communities by recognising and addressing the impact of racism on mental health.
