Organisations supporting disadvantaged young people to develop skills and progress towards employment can now apply for funding through the Bairdwatson Charitable Trust.

Managed by Foundation Scotland, the Trust offers grants of up to £20,000 for projects that focus on employability, vocational skills and training that helps young people move into education, apprenticeships or employment.

The programme is aimed at organisations working with young people who are disengaged from learning, preparing to leave school, or who have already left school without a positive destination. Funding is available for projects lasting up to 12 months.

Priority will be given to projects that deliver structured, skills-based learning through regular sessions, courses or intensive programmes that support participants to develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to progress towards employment or further education.

While the fund can contribute towards wraparound support, activities must have a clear employability focus. Projects centred solely on health and wellbeing are unlikely to be eligible unless they demonstrate a direct link to employment outcomes.

All applicants must meet Foundation Scotland’s Funding Criteria before applying.

The closing date for applications is Friday 7 August 2026.
