The Community Energy Growth Fund is now open for applications through the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES), delivered by Local Energy Scotland.

The fund supports communities to take renewable energy projects from development through to ownership, helping to support local action on climate change while keeping more of the benefits of renewable energy within communities.

Eligible community organisations in Scotland can access support to develop, build and own renewable energy generation projects.

Applications close on 14 September 2026.
