The Open University’s Centre for Voluntary Sector Leadership (CVSL) offers a range of free learning opportunities, including its Developing Leadership Practice in Voluntary Organisations course.
Designed specifically for people working within third sector organisations, the course aims to help participants develop practical, thoughtful and effective approaches to leadership.

- Thinking about leadership
- Leadership as a person
- Transformational leadership
- Leadership and ethics
- Leadership in practice
The course involves approximately 15 hours of study, divided into five weekly sections, allowing participants to work through the learning at a manageable pace.
Those who complete the course will receive a Statement of Participation from The Open University.
