Community transport organisations across Scotland can apply for funding to help transition to zero-emission vehicles through the Plugged-In Communities Grant Fund.
Delivered by Energy Saving Trust, the programme supports organisations to replace existing community transport vehicles with fully electric alternatives, helping reduce emissions while maintaining vital transport services.
Funding available
The fund can cover 100% of eligible costs, meaning no match funding is required.
Grants of up to £75,000 are available towards the cost of a new fully electric vehicle, with additional support available for accessibility adaptations and charging infrastructure.
This brings the maximum total award to £95,000.
Eligible vehicles include:
- Cars
- Multipurpose vehicles (MPVs)
- Minibuses
- Vans
Funding can also support adaptations required to ensure vehicles remain accessible to the communities they serve.
Who can apply?
The fund is open to registered community transport organisations and operators in Scotland providing community transport services.
Applicants will need to meet the programme’s eligibility requirements, including having appropriate charging arrangements in place and providing monitoring information on the use of funded vehicles.
