The Larder is looking for individuals to join its Board as Chair of the Board and Trustee Directors, helping to shape the future of the West Lothian charity and social enterprise.
The Larder works to tackle poverty, support employability and skills development, improve food security and create opportunities for young people and adults with additional support needs.
As the organisation enters its next stage of development, it is seeking individuals who can bring their skills, experience and perspectives to help guide its future direction.
Chair of the Board
With its current Chair preparing to step down after almost 6 years, The Larder is seeking an inclusive and values-led individual to lead its Board.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Executive, provide strategic leadership and help ensure the organisation remains well governed, financially sustainable and focused on its charitable purpose.
Applicants should have senior leadership or Board-level experience, strong communication skills and an understanding of governance and strategic decision-making.
The role is voluntary, with an initial 3-year term and a planned handover from the outgoing Chair.
Trustee Directors
The Larder is also seeking new Trustee Directors to strengthen its Board and support the organisation’s continued development.
Trustees will help provide strategic oversight, ensure good governance and support the organisation in achieving its charitable objectives.
The Larder is particularly interested in individuals with experience in:
- Marketing and communications
- Digital innovation and transformation
- Youth work, employability and skills
- Additional support needs, disability and inclusive practice
- Finance, fundraising, governance or organisational development
Previous Trustee experience is not essential, and applications are welcomed from people with a range of professional and lived experiences.
These are voluntary positions, with reasonable expenses reimbursed.
How to Apply
Applicants for either role should submit:
- A current CV or short summary of their experience.
- A supporting statement of no more than 2 pages explaining their interest in the role and what they could bring.
- Details of 2 referees.
Applications should be emailed to recruitment@thelarder.org.
For an informal discussion, contact Angela Moohan, Chief Executive, at angela@thelarder.org or call 01506 412819.
Closing date for both opportunities: Monday 19th October 2026.
