We’re pleased to share the VSGWL Stakeholder Survey Report 2026, bringing together feedback on our services and the challenges facing organisations across West Lothian’s third sector.

We received 27 responses this year. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their views and suggestions.

Some of the key findings were:

  • 81% were satisfied or very satisfied with their interactions with Gateway staff.
  • 78% rated our services and support good or excellent.
  • 78% rated our communications good or excellent.

Respondents also asked for more visits and face-to-face contact, stronger advocacy and representation, and practical support with volunteering, training and resources.

Funding, rising costs and increased demand remain challenges. Despite these pressures, 85% of those answering the question were fairly or very optimistic about their organisation’s future.

The report includes a section on social enterprises, covering achievements, trading income, sustainability, staffing and support needs.

You’ll also find a brief ‘You said, we did’ reflection on our response to last year’s feedback, alongside ‘You said, we will’ proposed next steps. These cover local engagement, advocacy, volunteering, training, shorter themed sessions and a 2027 events calendar.
