Working Together

Voluntary Sector Gateway West Lothian (The Gateway) works in partnership with voluntary organisations, community groups, social enterprises and public sector partners to strengthen West Lothian’s third sector and support thriving communities.

Partnership and collaboration

Collaboration is central to our role as West Lothian’s Third Sector Interface. We bring organisations and partners together to share knowledge, identify local priorities, develop opportunities and ensure the voice of the third sector is represented in the decisions that affect our communities.

By building strong relationships across sectors, we help encourage joined-up approaches, strengthen local networks and create opportunities for organisations to work together.

Our strategic partnerships

We work closely with key local and national partners, including the Scottish Government, West Lothian Council, NHS Lothian and the West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership.

We are also an active partner within the West Lothian Community Planning Partnership, working alongside organisations including Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), West Lothian College and Skills Development Scotland.

Through these partnerships, we champion the contribution of West Lothian’s third sector, help ensure its voice is heard and work collectively to improve outcomes for people and communities across the area.
