
Adult Support and Protection (ASP) Awareness Day will take place in February 2026, with this year’s national theme focusing on “ASP in supportive settings”.
Locally, the focus will be on Adult Support and Protection in care homes, with an online learning event being delivered for practitioners who work with, or have an interest in, ASP in care homes and other supportive settings.
The event will take place on Thursday 19 February 2026, from 9.00am to 1.00pm, and will provide opportunities for learning, reflection, and discussion around good practice in safeguarding adults.

A guest speaker from Care Inspectorate on the topic of restrictive practice

A guest speaker exploring Trauma Informed practice

An overview of North Lanarkshire Council’s Strategic Case Learning Review: Concerning Events Leading to the Closure of Care Home G, including breakout room discussion

A spotlight on West Lothian’s Care Home Collaborative Team
This event is aimed at practitioners across health, social care, and the third sector who are involved in, or interested in, Adult Support and Protection within care homes and supportive settings.
