On 29th July 2025, Age Scotland’s About Dementia project opened the latest round of its Encouraging and Supporting Grassroots Activity (ESGA) Fund, aimed at smaller organisations providing community-led support for people affected by dementia.
A total of £310,000 is available this year, with individual awards ranging from £5,000 to £20,000. Eligible projects will run for a 12-month period starting before 1 April 2026. The fund is supported by the Scottish Government.
For 2025, About Dementia is placing particular emphasis on supporting rural and remote communities, which often face isolation and significant barriers to accessing dementia-related services. The ESGA Fund aims to help address these challenges and improve support for people living with dementia and their unpaid carers in these areas.
The fund is also open to organisations across Scotland running activities that benefit people affected by dementia and help keep them connected to their communities.
Applications close on Friday 5 September 2025.
