The Community Enterprise Fund offers grants of up to £5,000 over six months to help community organisations in Scotland start trading or set up social enterprises. Applicants must register on the Firstport Application Portal. Funding decisions are made by an independent panel, with responses usually within 12-14 weeks.
Grants can cover start-up and development costs such as legal fees, premises rent, branding, insurance, and equipment. Priority is given to proposals with strong potential for income generation and social impact. The fund does not support core costs for existing services or projects.
