From 18th November 2025, identity verification became a legal requirement for all company directors and people with significant control (PSCs).

This begins a 12-month transition period, giving companies time to ensure all directors and PSCs have verified their identity by their individual due dates.

How to verify your identity

There are two ways to complete verification:

Companies House has worked closely with GOV.UK One Login to create a simple and accessible online verification route for directors and PSCs across the UK.
