Governance Wiki

To support organisations in developing good governance, we’re sharing a link to the Governance Wiki — a valuable, free online resource designed to help boards, trustees, and senior staff across the voluntary sector.

The Governance Wiki provides clear, accessible guidance on a wide range of topics, including:

  • What is governance?

  • The role of Management Committees and Boards

  • Good governance relationships and decision-making

  • Delegation, conflicts of interest, and codes of conduct

  • Legal structures and registration guidance

  • Employment, safeguarding, and information governance

  • Financial management, risk, and evaluation

It also includes specific sections on:

  • Charity Trustees – duties, induction, disqualification, and leadership roles

  • Legal Structures – SCIOs, Unincorporated Associations, and Companies Limited by Guarantee
