River Almond Walk and Talk – Sunday 17 August

West Lothian residents are invited to join a free and friendly River Almond Walk and Talk on Sunday 17 August, from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Almondell & Calderwood Country Park.

Organised in collaboration with Friends of Almondell & Calderwood Country Park, the River Almond Action Group, and others, this relaxed and sociable walk offers an opportunity to:

  • Celebrate the rich biodiversity and heritage of the River Almond

  • Learn about environmental challenges affecting the river and how they are being addressed

  • Discover how you can get involved in local nature and conservation efforts

The walk will include several stops along the route for short talks and discussion. All are welcome, and there is no need to book – simply meet at the Visitor Centre at the start time.

📍 Location: Almondell & Calderwood Country Park (meet at the Visitor Centre)
🕦 Time: 11:30am – 1:30pm
📅 Date: Sunday 17 August

The walk will be followed by a Pollinator Workshop, delivered by Buglife and Almond Valley Nature Action, where attendees can learn more about supporting pollinators locally. Places for the workshop are limited and booking is required.
