Sustrans Scotland is inviting applications for its ArtRoots funding programme, offering grants of up to £6,000 for community-led public art projects along Scotland’s traffic-free National Cycle Network.
The programme aims to encourage walking, wheeling, and cycling by enhancing local routes through creative projects such as murals, sculptures, temporary installations, heritage signage, and community events.
Funding is open to constituted community groups, non-constituted organisations, and individuals with meaningful community involvement. Standard awards are £2,500, with higher amounts considered for projects that significantly increase active travel. No match funding is required.
Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest form first. A dedicated Sustrans officer will provide guidance to support development of full proposals. Projects are assessed on community engagement, public enjoyment, and contribution to the long-term accessibility and visibility of the network.
Deadline: Wednesday 15th October 2025
