parkrun events take place every week, and volunteers are at the heart of making them happen. Whether you’re completely new to parkrun or already part of the community, everyone is welcome to volunteer — no experience required.
Volunteering is a great way to try something new, meet people, support your local community and even work towards an official parkrun milestone. There are a range of roles available, from marshalling to barcode scanning, and many volunteer positions can be combined with walking or running too.

How to get involved
In advance
If you know you’d like to volunteer soon, email:
westlothiancyclecircuitjuniors@parkrun.com
Include your full name and parkrun ID (if you have it).
On the day
Prefer not to commit ahead of time? Just turn up and speak to the volunteer team — there is always space for more help.
Volunteer regularly
Update your parkrun profile to receive volunteer emails for upcoming opportunities.
Register for parkrun
If you haven’t registered yet, you can sign up here. Registration covers both participation and volunteering.
You can also view the future volunteer roster on the event page — even if it looks full, there will always be a role for you.
What roles can I do?
There’s something for everyone, from course set-up and marshalling to barcode scanning and supporting finishers. parkrun will only ask you to do tasks you’re comfortable with, and guidance is always available.
For any questions or concerns, speak to the Run Director at the event or contact parkrun support after the event.
