Applications are now open for the Creative Breaks programme for 2026–2027, with around £1.6 million available to support third sector organisations across Scotland.
Delivered by Shared Care Scotland, the Creative Breaks fund provides 12-month grants to enable organisations to deliver short breaks for unpaid carers of adults (aged 21 and over), young carers, and the people they care for.
This funding offers an important opportunity to support carers’ wellbeing through meaningful breaks and activities. However, demand is expected to be high, with previous rounds oversubscribed—71% of applicants were successful in 2025–2026.

The fund is open to third sector organisations operating in Scotland. Applicants must be either:
- An OSCR registered charity, or
- A constituted organisation with charitable purposes that delivers public benefit
Organisations are encouraged to review the full guidance to ensure they meet eligibility criteria before applying.
