30 September @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Are you looking to make your community building more energy efficient, reduce running costs or explore opportunities for renewable energy?

Join us for a free online session exploring the support and funding available to help community organisations across West Lothian develop energy efficiency and community energy projects.

Wednesday 30 September 2026
3.00pm
Online

The session will introduce the support available through the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) and how it can help community organisations explore ideas and take practical steps towards developing energy-related projects.

The CARES Community Energy Launchpad team will outline the advice, funding and development support currently available, including the CARES Community Buildings Fund, which provides funding to help eligible community organisations reduce their building’s energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

We’ll also be joined by the West Lothian Climate Action Network (WLCAN), who will introduce CommonWatt – an exciting opportunity for community organisations interested in generating their own renewable energy. Supported through CARES funding, CommonWatt is exploring opportunities for solar PV installations on community buildings.

Who should attend?

The session is particularly relevant to:

  • Community groups
  • Charities
  • Places of worship
  • Sports clubs
  • Organisations managing community buildings or community assets

Whether you’re just starting to explore what might be possible or already have an energy project in mind, this session is a great opportunity to find out what support is available and where to start.
