West Lothian Scouts are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join their board in two key leadership roles: District Chair and District Treasurer.
These flexible volunteering opportunities are ideal for anyone who wants to use their professional skills to make a real difference for young people across West Lothian. Whether you have experience in leadership, finance, governance, or simply want to contribute to your local community, these roles offer the chance to support an organisation that helps young people gain skills for life through adventure, teamwork, and personal development.
District Chair (Board Trustee)
As District Chair, you’ll lead and support the District Trustee Board, helping meetings run effectively, encouraging good governance, and working collaboratively with fellow volunteers to guide the future direction of Scouting across West Lothian.
This role is perfect for someone with strong leadership, communication and organisational skills who enjoys bringing people together and supporting positive change.
District Treasurer (Board Trustee)
The District Treasurer plays a vital role in managing the district’s finances, supporting financial planning, and helping ensure the organisation remains sustainable for the future.
Working alongside the Trustee Board, you’ll use your financial and organisational skills to help create opportunities for young people while gaining valuable experience in charity governance.
Why Volunteer?
Both roles offer:
- Flexible volunteering that fits around work and family commitments.
- A mixture of remote volunteering and occasional evening meetings.
- Full training and support from an experienced volunteer team.
- Valuable experience in charity governance, leadership and strategic decision-making.
- The opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people across West Lothian.
If you’re looking for a rewarding way to give back to your community while developing valuable skills, these could be the perfect opportunities.
