LGBT+ led organisations across the UK can apply for grants of up to £50,000 to support sports and physical activities that promote inclusion, participation and wellbeing.

The LGBT+ Fund: Get Active Fund, delivered by Consortium with funding from the London Marathon Foundation, will distribute £400,000 over two years to support community-based organisations and projects.

The fund aims to address barriers that LGBT+ communities face when accessing sport and physical activity, with a particular focus on grassroots organisations supporting people who experience additional challenges to participation.

How much funding is available?

Eligible organisations can apply for:

  • One-year grants: £5,000 to £25,000
  • Two-year grants: £10,000 to £50,000

Funding can support a wide range of activities that encourage movement and wellbeing, including football, hiking, dance, gardening, skateboarding and other community-based physical activities.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be UK-based, LGBT+ led non-profit organisations or groups that regularly deliver sports or physical activities.

Organisations must have been operating for at least six months and either currently deliver relevant activities or have delivered sports or physical activity projects within the past three years.

Priority will be given to grassroots organisations supporting LGBT+ communities facing additional barriers to participation.

How to apply

Applications can be submitted online through a written or video application. Organisations are encouraged to check their eligibility and review the funding guidance before applying.

Support is available for applicants who need assistance completing their application.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 4 November 2026 at 12 noon.

Funding decisions are expected to be communicated by early February 2027.
