Switch off for Earth Hour – and take a small step that makes a big difference

On Saturday 28th March, 8.30–9.30pm, people around the world will be switching off their lights for Earth Hour.

It’s a simple idea – one hour in the dark to show support for our planet. But Earth Hour is also a reminder that the small things we do every day can make a real difference for both the environment and our energy bills.

If you’re taking part this year, here are a few easy ways to keep the impact going:

  • Switch appliances off instead of leaving them on standby
  • Wash clothes at lower temperatures
  • Avoid overfilling the kettle
  • Take shorter showers
  • Use your tumble dryer less where possible

Even small changes like these can add up to noticeable savings over the year.
