West Lothian Climate Action Network (WLCAN) has two upcoming events offering opportunities for people across West Lothian to learn more about climate change and some of the issues affecting our local communities.
People’s Emergency Briefing – WLCAN Screening
WLCAN is hosting a special screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing, a documentary aimed at increasing public awareness of climate change and highlighting the need for urgent action.
The screening will be followed by discussion around how screenings could be hosted within local communities. The event is primarily aimed at WLCAN members, but anyone who lives or works in West Lothian is welcome to attend.
WLCAN also has a limited number of £100 grants available to member groups interested in hosting their own local screening.

Data Centres Information Session
WLCAN is also holding a free information session exploring data centres and what their growth could mean for West Lothian and surrounding communities.
The session will look at what data centres are, why Scotland’s central belt is attracting proposals and the potential opportunities and environmental considerations associated with their development.
The proposed Apatura Freeport AI Energy Campus at West Calder will be used as a local case study, with the session designed to provide a neutral and educational opportunity to hear different perspectives and find out more.
