Kidzeco is hosting a Family Eco Fun Day as part of Scottish Climate Week on Saturday 26 September, and local organisations and groups are invited to get involved.
Taking place from 1:30pm–5pm, the event will give families an opportunity to discover simple, practical ways to take climate-friendly action while learning about the services and support available across West Lothian.
Kidzeco is particularly keen to hear from organisations whose work supports greener living, environmental wellbeing or helps families save money through more sustainable choices. This could include work around:
- Reuse and repair
- Energy advice
- Food waste reduction
- The circular economy
- Sustainable cooking
- Outdoor activities
- Other environmentally friendly services and support
Organisations can take part as an information stall holder and are encouraged to offer a simple, practical and family-friendly activity to help visitors engage with their work. There may also be opportunities to deliver a mini workshop or activity as part of the day.
Activities already being explored include an Eco Bookbug session, a bug hunt in the community garden and other family-friendly activities, alongside eco-friendly businesses showcasing sustainable products and swaps.
The event is a chance for organisations to showcase their work, connect with local families and highlight services that can help people save money while making more sustainable choices.
