The Bank of Scotland Foundation has launched its Empower grants programme for 2025, aimed at supporting charities that assist vulnerable groups, especially in light of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis in Scotland.
Opening at 12 noon on Monday 3 February, the programme offers three-year, unrestricted grants of £150,000 (£50,000 per year). These grants provide charities with stability and flexibility to allocate funding where it’s most needed, such as core costs, delivery costs, project expenses, or general running costs, enabling them to address challenges effectively.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The charity must support vulnerable groups.
- The charity must be registered in Scotland with a charity number starting with SC0.
- The charity must have a minimum of 3 years of accounts lodged and verified by OSCR.
- The charity’s OSCR and Companies House (if applicable) records must be up to date.
- The charity’s OSCR record must state that it carries out activities or services itself.
- The charity’s income must fall between £150,000 – £500,000 per year.
- The charity must operate within Scotland.
Applications must be submitted online by 12 noon on Wednesday 12 February 2025. The application portal will close automatically at this time, and no submissions will be accepted after the deadline.
