The Procurement Act 2023 comes into force on 24 February, bringing significant changes for social enterprises supplying goods and services to local and national government. The Act aims to simplify bidding, introduce faster payments, and improve transparency in public procurement. A new central digital platform will streamline the process, making it easier to register and track opportunities. A Procurement Review Unit (PRU) will also be established to ensure compliance and address supplier concerns.
To help social enterprises navigate these changes, Social Enterprise UK is hosting a series of webinars covering key requirements, government support, and local authority engagement.
With a stronger focus on social value and SME engagement, this is an opportunity for social enterprises to secure more public sector contracts.
