Whilst many of us know that we are delivering great work in the community and changing lives on a daily basis, proving and evidencing this can be tricky! Whether it’s lack of time, staff resource, tools and systems or just knowing where to start, managing your monitoring, evaluation and learning process is a daunting task. Nevertheless, it’s increasingly important to be able to collect insightful data on your work, show that you are achieving your desired outcomes and report back to trustees, funders, local authorities, partners and stakeholders.

We have partnered up with Upshot to shed light on this area. Upshot is a social enterprise with a mission to help any non-profit organisation to manage, monitor and evidence the amazing work they do in their communities. They provide a range of consultancy services, alongside a simple-to-use online platform for data collection and reporting.

In a 1.5 hour, introductory workshop we will cover:

  • What is monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) and why is it important?
  • The MEL Cycle – from planning and data collection to learning from your data and improving your programmes
  • Terminology – busting the jargon
  • Challenges and solutions to data collection
  • Pulling it all together – telling data driven stories

Bonus! (For in person attendees):

  • Network with fellow non-profit professionals. Connect and share your experiences.
  • Meet with our membership officer, Tracy. Discover how The Gateway can support your organisation.
