Annual return deadline – only 2 weeks to go

Just over one third of Scottish charities have an annual return deadline of 31 December. Our office will be open for limited hours during the holidays to answer urgent queries relating solely to annual returns, so we’re encouraging as many charities as possible to submit their returns ahead of the deadline.

We’ve got lots of helpful advice which you can share to ensure charities submit their returns fully and on time:

How much should you have in charity reserves?

The amount an organisation should have in reserves is different for every charity. While there are some misconceptions that OSCR and other bodies may ask for a specific amount to be held in reserves, this isn’t true.

If your members are unsure how much they should actually have in the bank, share our blog post with them to help explain how to create an appropriate reserves policy.

We want to hear from you

We are looking at ways to improve our communication with people and organisations like yours in the months ahead, so we’d love to hear from you to better understand how we can help.

I’d be grateful if you could take a couple of minutes to complete our short survey and let us know if you have found this newsletter helpful, how often you would like to hear from us, and what kind of content you would like to see from us in the future.

Please do forward this email on to any colleagues or other third sector organisations who you think would also be interested in receiving newsletters from us.
