Get Started in Sports Coaching : Friday 26th of May – Friday 2nd of June (Location: Edinburgh College Granton Campus, 350 West Granton Road, Edinburgh EH5 1QE)

This one-week course is great for young people aged 16-30 who are looking for an opportunity to explore the world of sport. The course will be varied with outdoor activities such as orienteering and indoor work in the gym. There will be a focus on practical activity although plenty of opportunities made for those who prefer observation and reflection. This is a great opportunity for young people who want to gain confidence and develop new skills while exploring the sports sector to see if this is the right industry for them. Lunch and transport covered by us.

 

Explore for Refugees : 4th– 6th of July (Location: Fet Lor Youth Club, 122 Crewe Road South, Edinburgh, EH4 2NY)

This Explore course will be tailored to refugees aged 16-30 as an opportunity meet new people, grow in confidence, and take part in team building activities. They can practice speaking English with peers and get to know Edinburgh a bit more with support from Prince’s Trust staff. We can organise translators for refugees who require communication support. On the second day of the course, there will be a trip within the community to help develop relationships and explore the local area. Lunch and transport covered by us.

 

Get Into Retail with M&S : 3rd – 28th July, Taster day w/b 19th July (Location: Princes Street in Edinburgh, The Gyle Shopping Centre, or Livingston)

During this four-week employability course, young people aged 16-30 will gain a wide range of experiences within M&S stores as well as support from M&S staff to help them potentially secure a job in retail. After a successful Taster Day, our main programme will offer you 4 weeks of work experience and training, and the chance to gain a 12-week paid contract with M&S. There are opportunities to work in M&S stores on Princes Street in Edinburgh, at The Gyle Shopping Centre, and in Livingston. Young people will have 6 months post-programme support from Prince’s Trust staff. Transport is covered by us and uniform provided.

 

Get Started in Radio and Broadcasting: 24th – 28th July, Taster day w/c 17th July (Location TBC but will be Edinburgh based)

An opportunity for young people aged 16-30 to learn about all things radio including content creation and news presenting. They will learn from industry professionals Gaydio on how to plan and deliver a successful show. In addition to this, they will begin to create a podcast and discuss next steps. This programme is run in partnership with Gaydio. Transport is covered by us and lunch is provided.
