The Bridge 19-40 Union Canal Society is one of the smallest and friendliest canal societies on the Scottish Lowland Canals. Based in Broxburn we aim to encourage the people living in the communities along the canal to take an interest in the canal and help maintain it as a pleasant amenity for boating, walking, cycling, or fishing. Our work is all delivered by our volunteers,

The Society is about to enter a new, exciting phase as we are now in the process of ordering a brand new, purpose-built passenger boat with which we will be able to offer the public and community groups, access to boat trips along the Union Canal. The new boat will also help us widen the range of roles for volunteers to share and learn new skills:

The Society is seeking to appoint two new members to ensure we have the capacity, knowledge, and skills to oversee the next phase of our work. The volunteers we seek will include an individual with legal knowledge / training and an individual with Media and communications or PR including social media.
