The Third Sector Community Support Fund 2023/24 is now open for applications.
The focus of the Third Sector Community Support Fund is to support projects and services that address one or more of West Lothian Council’s eight priorities below:
- Improving attainment and positive destinations for school children
- Minimising poverty, the cycle of deprivation and promoting equality
- Delivering positive outcomes and early interventions for early years
- Improving the quality of life for older people
- Delivering positive outcomes on health
- Improving the employment position in West Lothian
- Reducing crime and improving community safety
- Protecting the built and natural environment
Projects that support communities through the cost of living crisis will be a key consideration in any award.
We are particularly keen to see projects that target out communities in the bottom 20% SIMD data zones, and support the aims of the Economic Recovery Plan, Anti-Poverty Action Plan 2018- 2023) and the work of Local Regeneration Steering Groups.
Applicants are able to apply for new projects or services for delivery of that work over 12 or 24 months between 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2025. Existing recipients of funding from the 2021/22 process that are providing services delivered in 2021/22 and 2022/23 can apply to continue to deliver projects or services, where these have proved successful.
Applications should not exceed £50,000 per organisation, although consortium bids may apply for more funding and will be considered on the merits of both the additional value for money and on the effect on the overall pot of supporting a larger bid. Applicants will be encouraged to show how this funding will support delivery of a service or projects that utilise other funding brought in by the applicant thereby showing how the contribution of the council helps to deliver that larger service provision. There is no specific percentage for this but it will be part of the decision making process.
Should you wish for support and advice this is available through the Community Planning and Regeneration Team (RegenerationTeam@westlothian.gov.uk).
