Role Overview

About the Community Fridge Project:

Established in early 2020, the Community Fridge project aims to combat food insecurity and reduce food waste. Local businesses donate food destined for landfill, which we then distribute through our facility. The project has expanded significantly, with a new dedicated facility that has tripled our initial fridge, freezer equipment, and shelving capacity.

Currently, we have 990 community members, with an average of 150-200 visits per week. Our Brunch Club provides meal deliveries to those who may struggle to cook healthy meals for themselves.

The Community Fridge’s Mission:

Food waste is a significant issue, with the average household discarding £470 worth of food annually. Our project provides access to nutritious, surplus food at low costs, helping people save money and reduce waste.
